Play, Movement and Meditation - Prescription for a Healthy Family

  • Health Hub Studios 50 Washington Street Glasgow G3 8AZ (map)

The world is moving faster than ever and we are struggling to keep up physically, mentally and emotionally. This workshop brings you and your family everything you need to know about how to stay fitter and mentally resilient in the midst of it all.

Our guest speaker from London is Darryl Edwards who is a thought leader in the area of creativity and innovation in fitness and health. He is the best-selling author of "Animal Moves" advocating the use of play to make fitness fun for kids from 4 years old to adults aged 94. Darryl recently did a TEDx Talk and will be sharing his vision as well as helping you see how easy it is to incorporate both movement and fun into your everyday life - both of which are vital for your health and wellbeing. Darryl's mission is simple, "to get people to reconnect with their inner child and to fall in love with movement again." A fun, interactive and highly engaging session for all ages. You can follow Darryl at PrimalPlay.com or @fitnessexplorer on social media.

Yoga and Meditation are the buzz words of the modern era but how do you incorporate them into everyday living especially if you have kids? Joining us is the incredible Elaine Harris from Ireland, a 500hr certified yoga teacher who is especially popular with kids. She has taught hundreds of children in the UK, Ireland and Australia. Her mission is to spread awareness about the benefits of therapeutic yoga for children especially those with special needs eg. Down’s Syndrome, autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, dyspraxia, to name a few. Suitable for all ages.

This workshop is led by 2 doctors who have a passion to help people live more in wellness instead of illness. They both specialise in lifesyle medicine and are the founders of Glasgow Wellbeings.

The aim of this workshop is to help you understand why investing in movement and meditation is vital for better health and wellbeing. You will leave with easy to implement, takeaway tips to help get you started. We encourage you to bring along your famillies and friends because play, movement and meditation are more fun when we do it together.
